Odd Times - Traversing The Southern US

It's a strange time to be traveling the roads across this country. The tension is palpable everywhere. It's sad, but it's honest, too, which is the scariest realization. It's crazy how divided we've become. It's mind boggling actually. I saw a man at a gas station with a Trump sticker on his Mercedez and a Trump tshirt on too, and instinctively I wanted to argue with him while not knowing even the slightest iota about his daily life. How has that happened? I've always thought that what the world needed was a bit of going-backwards, i.e. slowing down, talking to strangers, general niceties, handshakes, stop buying so much more (and that goes for physical things - houses and stuff - as well as buying the news, too) and start fixing what you have. We're going the exact opposite backwards though. We're scaring the fuck out of everyone. And it's such a beautiful place out here...
