Going Organic on Hidden Shores Ln, Dennis, MA

Elaine and Barbara purchased this home in Dennis to have a place to chill - or warm - away from their home in New Hampshire where Elaine works for the most amazing Stonyfield Yogurt and its Ce-Yo Gary Hershberg. What was a pretty drab, dark, and fairly boring little bathroom attached to their master suite was completely redone in a creative, crafty manner. We listened to what they wanted and loved - sunlight, beach glass, stone, tall beadboard, a large mirror, and an antique vanity like they’d seen in one of our other projects were their main requests - and what they didn’t - a window that was so low in the bathroom the neighbors had a pretty good view of, well…pretty much everything.

We found some beach glass tiles while on a random quest and mixed them in randomly with easily found and cost-smart white subway tiles; matched the river-stone shower floor with our handmade concrete countertop with exposed aggregate (second attempt….the first was absolutely the most gorgeous color we’ve ever made, but then they viewed an exposed aggregate top in a magazine and asked if we could pull that off…so we did); made a custom-detailed wood ceiling; installed floor-to-ceiling glass shower doors; made a custom beadboard for their walls; and then matched it all up with a sweet color scheme and coordinating tile floor. Tons of fun.
